If you are applying for a 9th grade seat, you will need to use GoCPS to apply to a Perspectives high school for the 2019-20 school year and beyond. To access GoCPS, click here. Information Sessions begin promptly at 5:30pm with a presentation by school leadership that covers academics, extracurricular activities, student expectations and more. Our student ambassadors are onsite to provide a student voice, answer questions and provide campus tours.

If you have applied and are interested in enrolling your student(s) for the Fall 2017-2018 school year, you will need to provide the following documentation:

Proof of Grades

  • Incoming 6th - 9th grade students: Most recent report card
  • Incoming 10th - 12th grade students: Current transcripts

Proof of Guardianship

  • Student's birth certificate
  • Legal guardianship documents (if applicable)

Proof of Residency (one of each, both must reflect Chicago address)

  • Valid parent/guardian State ID or Driver's License
  • Current bill (gas, light, phone, cable)

$50 non-refundable/non-transferrable deposit toward Annual Instruction Fee

  • Annual Instruction Fee is $265 and includes student's first lock, ID, field studies and more.
  • Accepted forms of payment: cash, cashier check, money order, credit/debit card. No personal checks.

IEP/504 Plan (if applicable)

All documents must be submitted at the time of enrollment. Enrollment holds the seat at the campus you choose, as long as seats are available. Seats are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Attention Current 8th Grade Families: GoCPS High School Account Activation is Now Available

The new school year is right around the corner, and for all our 8th grade families, that means it’s also time to take the next step in the high school application process and activate their GoCPS accounts. GoCPS is the district’s new online platform that streamlines the application process for Chicago Public Schools and makes it more simple, equitable and transparent for all families. Here are some important pointers to keep in mind while applying: 


Editing Applications

 After you submit your application, you still have the opportunity to re-rank, add, or remove programs until the deadline on December 22. To edit an online application, login to your GoCPS account and click “Edit Application.” To modify a paper application, contact the Office of Access and Enrollment at 773-553-2060 or gocps@cps.edu to request an Application Modification Form.

Activation Codes

In order to activate your account, you will need to use the Activation Code from a letter sent home with your student at the end of the school year. If you have misplaced or did not receive this code, please contact the Office of Access and Enrollment at 773-553-2060 from a telephone number on your student’s CPS student information file to have it reissued. The OAE call center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Activation Codes will also be included with the Eligibility Letters that will be distributed to students at school in September 2017.

Application Advice

No matter who is activating the account, be sure to enter the name and address of the parent/guardian with whom the student resides. The address for this parent/guardian will be the address that is used for determining tiers, proximity boundaries, and attendance and overlay boundaries.
