Be a Community, Business or Academic Partner
Perspectives integrates our students’ curriculum with real-world experiences by partnering with museums, businesses and organizations as host sites for our Field Studies, and for students’ Community Action projects where students give back to their communities by volunteering to serve others.
We partner with community leaders, corporations, foundations and academic supporters to fund our work, lend strategic advice and direction, and volunteer in our schools as mentors to our students.
Strategic Community partnerships are best demonstrated by our five year relationship with the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation (GAGDC), LISC/Chicago and faith-based and neighborhood community leaders in Auburn Gresham.
Partnering with GADC and LISC/Chicago to implement LISC’s Elev8 program in Auburn Gresham Perspectives opened the first charter school-based community health clinic in our Perspectives Calumet Middle School, and launched a number of school enrichment programs and community partnerships that foster, among other outcomes, school safety and peaceful conflict resolution. Elev8 seeks to transform the educational achievement and life outcomes of disadvantaged middle school students by initiating community revitalization for students and their families through sustainable school-community partnerships.
To learn more about our community partnerships, and to be become involved with Perspectives in our school communities of Auburn Gresham, Grand Boulevard and the South Loop please contact Community Relations Director Glennese Ray.
